We'll start it on September 27 and is targeted to be complete on December 15

The joint team surveyed the location for the construction of a connecting channel (Phb) and a water crossing alongside Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Klender, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, on Thursday (9/23).

The survey was led by East Jakarta Vice Mayor, Hendra Hidayat accompanied by Assistant Ekbang Kusmanto; East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Head, Santo; and Development and Drainage Improvement Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri.

In the field, they determined and marked the location points to make it easier for contractors to execute their work processes.

East Jakarta Vice Mayor, Hendra Hidayat said, it would be realized soon, as the location was prone to flooding considering it has very small and inadequate channel dimensions.

"By doing so, it is expected to be able to minimize flooding in the residential area of RW 10 Klender," he hoped.

Development and Drainage Improvement Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri explained, the channel as long as 878 meters would be made from Buara Bus Stop to Tegal Amba channel, Klender. Then the dimensions would be 2.5 meters using a box culvert.

As for water crossing as long as 30 meters would be made under Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai using a 1.5-meter buis concrete.

"We'll start it on September 27 and is targeted to be complete on December 15," he stated.

On the other hand, he had requested the assistance of the Traffic Unit and the East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency to help inform motorists to avoid Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai and find alternative routes, during the construction

"This is to minimize traffic congestion from Jakarta to Bekasi or vice versa," he stated.
